Little Harbor, Catalina Island

Photos taken April 27, 2008. Last updated May 9, 2008

Little Harbor is on the Pacific side of Catalina and features a campground, small harbor, and surfing area. It is somewhat inaccessible; you can take the Safari bus, which ran once a day when I was there in April, bike, hike, or take a guided tour (which may only go to the viewing point).

The Safari Bus at Little Harbor. This is the only motorized way to get to Little Harbor. (Guided tours may also stop.) I took the Safari Bus from Two Harbors.

At the campground, looking toward the harbor and the Pacific.

Looking inland across the campground. Notice that the shelters really don't have roofs. Better bring plenty of sunscreen!

Another view of the harbor and beach. There were no vessels in the harbor on this day.

Notice the sign "Wilderness area, watch for rattlesnakes"
