(Click for high resolution) The demolition of Astroworld (on South Loop 610) was in its final phases on March 14, 2006. This view looks north over the property from Bellfort Boulevard. The main area of Astroworld was between the photo location and the stadiums.

Here is another demolition event in progress along a Houston freeway. This is the former Montgomery Ward at Northline Mall along the North Freeway (IH-45).


This is the location of the extension of the Hardy Toll Road into downtown. Work could begin soon. This view looks north along the corridor from Collingsworth.

US 59 northbound at University in Sugar Land. Work is in progress to expand the freeway and add frontage roads.

On the SH 6 connection to the Fort Bend Parkway Toll road. The Fort Bend Parkway will eventually be extended to the right. It will be in a trench.

Interstate 45 north of Houston, just south of Conroe. Work is in progress to widen the freeway. This construction zone is a major traffic bottleneck.


On the connection ramp from BW8 north to US 59 (Southwest Freeway) northbound, looking northeast.


Construction on US 290 northwest of Houston near the future Grand Parkway intersection, looking east. This section of freeway is now fully limited-access to Hempstead, about 50 miles west of Houston. Currently the freeway is an a variety of interim configurations. Frontage roads are under construction in this view and there is a long area of embankment being stockpiled.
